Responsibility details are not available.
A collector figure for a diorama showing the French gendarmerie in service during the campaign of 1940. The No. 1 designation in the name sets this variant apart from the other figures of the same group. The 1:35 scale matches the most widespread scale for models of ground hardware, so the figure goes easily with vehicles and buildings. The manufacturer is Dynamo-Models.
The French gendarmerie was a force with police duties that operated mainly outside the large cities. In the spring and summer of 1940 its service turned into directing traffic on crowded roads, checks at junctions and care for civilians leaving their homes. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject: a figure in a dark uniform with a peaked cap works differently in a scene from soldiers and explains at first glance what is going on in the diorama.
Do not paint a dark uniform in a single shade. Mix the base a little lighter than you want the result and build the shadow with glazes into the folds, otherwise the figure will merge into a black blot. Set the leather straps apart with a warmer tone and bring the metal parts out last. Build the face from a mid flesh tone toward lightened areas on the forehead and the cheekbones.
