An accessory from the LooK line for a de Havilland Mosquito model in 1:48 scale. It covers the instrument panel.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft of the Second World War whose airframe was largely wooden. The crew consisted of two men seated side by side, and power came from a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines. The machine served in many roles, from night fighting through attacks on ground targets to photographic reconnaissance, and the individual versions differed in cockpit equipment and armament.
The instrument panel is the first thing in a cockpit the viewer focuses on. The plastic part from the kit usually renders it with nothing but shallow relief, which then has to be hand-painted dial by dial. A finished panel from an accessory set cuts that work down to a few minutes, and the instruments on it stay legible. The composition of the set and the way the panel is attached are given in the manufacturer's instructions; check them before you start work.
Fit the panel before you close the fuselage halves, because there is no reaching into a finished cockpit with tweezers. Do not touch the printed surfaces with your fingers, as the grease will stay visible on them. Do not soak the elements until you have confirmed in the instructions that they are meant for it: an element soaked by mistake cannot be saved. Use cyanoacrylate glue in the smallest possible amount, because its fumes fog clear surfaces.
For the modeler who is building a Mosquito in 1:48 scale and wants the cockpit finished quickly. The version designation is ambiguous, so before you buy, check the manufacturer's instructions for which kit and which aircraft variant the set is cut for.
The accessory set is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
