The third number of the marching range from Dynamo-Models in 1:35 scale. A numbered range makes it possible to put a longer movement together from several separate items without the same figure repeating in the column. The item is a figure and serves as an accessory to a model or to a scene you are building.
Painting a French infantryman of 1940 has its own specifics that are worth knowing in advance. The basis was khaki in a shade that differed noticeably between batches of cloth, so absolute uniformity of color in a column would on the contrary look unconvincing. The Adrian pattern helmet had a smooth pressed surface with a crest, on which a gentle lightening of the edge works well. Leather straps and pouches tended to be a distinctly warmer tone than the cloth, and it is precisely this contrast that holds the whole figure together.
Work from the large areas to the detail. First the base tone of the cloth, then a dark shadow flowed into the folds, finally a dry brush or a thin layer of a lighter tone on the edges. Mix the leather of the straps so that it is noticeably warmer than the greatcoat, otherwise the two areas will merge when seen from a distance. Do not draw the eyes of figures in this scale as circles; a dark shadow suggested in the socket is enough. At the end even the whole thing out with gentle dust from the bottom upward - in a marching scene dusting up to mid-calf is entirely in place.
