Figures in 1:35 scale

An item from the figures section in 1:35 scale, that is in the most widespread size of models of ground equipment. An adult figure measures around five centimeters in this scale, so the face, the kit and the folds of the clothing all stand out and there is something to use shading on. The detailed contents of the package and the recommended building procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

What figures are for

A figure is the simplest way to give a model scale. Next to a vehicle the viewer immediately recognizes how tall it really was, and at the same time a scene gains action: someone is leaning against a fender, someone is pointing the way, someone is lighting up. Figures prove themselves with a model on its own on a base as well, where a single figure beside the hull is enough.

Building and painting tips

• Cut surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface.
• Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them, or the paint will hold badly.
• Try the placement of the figures out dry, while they can still be moved.
• Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat will flood the detail of the face and the kit.
• A darker glaze run into the folds and a lighter pass over the raised edges will give the clothing depth.
• Glue suitable for the material used is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
