1:35 air conditioner (2 pcs.)

What the accessory suits

An air conditioning unit is one of those small things that say more about a scene than the large pieces do. On the bare wall of an apartment block it fixes the period at once, gives away that the house is lived in, and breaks up a uniform area on which the eye would otherwise have nothing to catch hold of. In dioramas with present-day equipment it fills the same role as trash cans, cables or satellite dishes: nobody notices them until they are missing.

What you will find in the box

Two air conditioning units in 1:35 scale, that is in the size that matches ordinary models of vehicles and figures. The list of parts and the material are given in the details with the goods.

Tips for painting and placing in the scene

• Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the surface down.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting and lay on a base coat.
• The casing tends to be light, so dirt stands out on it: let dark streaks run down the wall below the unit.
• Place the units above or below the windows and slightly apart; a regular row looks lifeless.
• Lighten the shade of the wall around the unit a little, so that the accessory separates from the background.

Who it is for

For builders of town dioramas who want the facade to look inhabited, and for modelers of vehicles who lack a small thing that fills out the setting of a scene. Two pieces are enough for one wall and also for leaving one damaged and the other whole. Air conditioning units are supplied. The background, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
