Metallic Details DRASH C-series type 2C 1:72 is an accessory for a diorama, a scale rendering of a rapidly deployable military shelter. It is not a kit of an airplane or of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a diorama, not a model of a machine. The set represents a scale rendering of a rapidly deployable military shelter from the DRASH family and serves to fill out a scene around models of modern airplanes, helicopters, vehicles and figures in 1:72 scale. Metallic Details supplies this kind of accessory as resin castings, which are finished and painted like any other modeling part.
The abbreviation DRASH denotes a family of rapidly deployable shelters built on a folding frame covered with a canvas. The point of the design is a single one: to have a covered working space within a few minutes, without heavy machinery and without preparing the ground. In the field such shelters serve as command posts, aid stations, workshops, stores and rest areas, and they are often joined by connecting vestibules into larger complexes. The rounded shape and the smooth cover are typical, and on a model they look best when painting gives them the texture of fabric.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that they are rid of residues of mold release agent, and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a knife and level the area with abrasive paper; sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and a thick filled glue suits the seams. Apply a surfacer before painting, then spray the base shade of the cover and lighten the upper surfaces slightly. A gentle wash in the folds and dusting of the lower areas with pigments turn a smooth casting into a believable canvas.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
