The AR-15, M16 and M4 family is the basic line of American small arms in 5.56 mm caliber. The weapons share the shape of the receiver and the controls and differ mainly in barrel length and in accessories: the M16 is a long rifle, the M4 a shortened carbine with a sliding stock. The SR-25 comes from the same design school but fires a more powerful 7.62 mm round and serves as a precision rifle intended for shooting at longer ranges. These are exactly the weapons that figures of American soldiers have carried from the late twentieth century to this day.

A weapon in this scale measures about two centimeters, so the result depends on a clean trim and restrained painting.
