This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. The set holds individual track links cast in white metal, which are assembled into a working track by joining them with the enclosed wire. It reproduces the steel variant of the track of the AMX-13 vehicle. Metal tracks replace the plastic or vinyl tracks from an ordinary kit and give a realistic weight and sag.
The AMX-13 was a French light tank of the Cold War period, famous for its oscillating turret with an autoloader. It was light, fast and widely exported to a number of armies; it existed in many armament variants.
The links are cleaned of casting remains, assembled with the enclosed wire and can be left to sag slightly. The metal is treated with a primer before painting, and the tracks are then painted and weathered with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It does not hold the vehicle, glue or paints.
