AT-T / BTM-3 – colored 3D interior 1:35 (Quinta Studio)

The accessory contains three-dimensional interior elements colored in production, printed by 3D printing and carried on decal paper. It is not a kit but a detailing set for the interior of a plastic model of the heavy Soviet tractor and engineering vehicle of the AT-T / BTM-3 family in 1:35 scale. The parts are thicker than ordinary decals and offer relief close to resin while remaining as easy to apply as a colored photo-etched set. The set is prepared for the AT-T/BTM-3 kit from Trumpeter.

The real subject

The AT-T was a Soviet heavy artillery tractor of the Cold War era derived from the chassis of the T-54 tank; a range of engineering vehicles grew out of it as well, among them the BTM-3 high-speed trenching machine. The roomy cab, derived from a truck, offers a rewarding space for detailing.

Use

• Cut the part out, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and slide it off the backing like a decal. A decal softener does not belong in the water: it would attack the printed resin and ruin the element.
• Seat it on the matching interior surface; secure the thicker parts with a tiny amount of glue.
• The pre-colored instruments and lettering usually need no further painting; the surface can be evened out with a toning varnish.

The accessory does not contain the kit itself. Paints, glue and other parts are not included, unless stated otherwise.
