Wheels for the Autoblinda 40/41 1:35 from PANZER ART: resin wheels with a desert tire tread.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin wheels for a model of the Italian Autoblinda armored car in the 40 and 41 forms, in 1:35 scale, with desert-pattern tires. On this vehicle the tread pattern is a striking feature: the wheels are large, uncovered and visible from every side on a model, so a soft impression from a plastic mold shows at once. The casting carries the tread pattern right to the bottom of the grooves.
The Autoblinda 40 and 41 were Italian armored cars with all-wheel drive and two driver's positions, so the vehicle could reverse as fast as it drove forward. They were used mainly in North Africa and in the Balkans, and it was the African environment that called for tires with a coarse tread that gripped in sand. The difference between the two versions lay above all in the armament of the turret.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that traces of mold release agent disappear. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the mark; sand with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate. Do not paint the tire black: aged rubber is more of a dark gray. For desert service it pays to fill the tread grooves with a light sand pigment and leave the upper surfaces of the wheels dusty, because that is exactly what you see most in period photographs.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
