Small litter and the leavings of human activity are among the most effective ways of giving a diorama scene life. Cans in 1:35 scale can be scattered on the ground, stood on a table, stacked beside a trash can or dropped on the bed of a vehicle. This is not a model of equipment but a standalone prop that completes a scene.
The same subject in three scales
The accessory also comes in 1:48 and 1:72 scale. The scale is the distinguishing figure and has to be chosen to match the figures and the equipment in your own scene.
It comes into its own in scenes of a crew at rest, in rear areas and billets, by field kitchens, in yards and in city corners with litter. It combines splendidly with crates, bins and furniture from the same diorama range: only their interplay looks natural, because a real scene is never tidied down to the last detail.
Separate the parts carefully with a scalpel, sand the faces and degrease them; when working with objects this small it pays to work over a tray with a raised edge so that a part is not lost. Choose the glue according to the material: cyanoacrylate for small resin parts, a thin plastic cement for plastic. The basis is a silver or light metallic ground, then the colored areas of the label over it and finally a gloss varnish, which gives the metal its characteristic sheen. Weather crushed pieces with a dark wash and light traces of rust where they are deformed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
