A set of masks for the glazing of the cockpit of the Bf 109F-2 fighter aircraft in the TFace form, that is for the outer and the inner side.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109F, established among modelers as the Friedrich, was a reworked development version of the German single-seat fighter aircraft. Against the older machines it received rounded wingtips, a cleaner cowling and the struts of the tail surfaces removed. It was driven by an inverted liquid-cooled twelve-cylinder Daimler-Benz placed in a V, and the main weapon fired through the hollow shaft of the propeller. The F-2 version is among the first production Friedrichs.
The designation TFace is used for sets that cover the glazing from both sides. Besides the outer parts they contain counterparts for the inner side of the cockpit too, so the frame can be sprayed with the interior color from inside and with the camouflage shade from outside. The result looks markedly better than one-sided masking, because the inner side of the frame does not stay in the color of the clear part.
First wash and degrease the glazing, but do not use aggressive thinners on it. Stick the masks on before spraying, press the edges down with a blunt skewer and apply the color in thin coats; a thick deposit leaves a ridge at the edge. Fit the inner masks before you glue the clear part into the fuselage. Once the paint has flashed off, take the mask off and draw it away at an angle across itself, not straight upward.
For modelers of the Bf 109 who do not want to mask the frame of the cockpit with tape piece by piece. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
