About product

Longbow radar for the Boeing/Hughes AH-64A Apache in 1:35 scale (Metallic Details)

The set holds fine resin parts of the mast-mounted AN/APG-78 Longbow radar for models of the AH-64A Apache attack helicopter in 1:35 scale. It is an accessory, not a kit in its own right.

The real subject

The Longbow radar is the characteristic covered antenna mounted above the rotor head, which lets the Apache Longbow version search for and track targets even from behind cover. The spherical cover on its supporting pylon is a conspicuous recognition feature that turns a standard Apache into the Longbow version.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue. Paint the cover in a matte color to match the subject and clean up the joints. Sand with respiratory protection.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of the AH-64 Apache model in 1:35 who want the Longbow version
  • Anyone after a convincing mast-mounted radar
  • More advanced modelers working with resin
  • Fans of helicopters

The set is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
