An injection-molded plastic building accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is neither a vehicle nor a figure: it is a segment of brick wall that serves as a set piece or a ruin in a military or urban scene. As stated by the manufacturer, the package contains several different shapes of walled sections, which can be put together into a continuous wall or into the collapsed corner of a building and so bring a whole scene to life.
A brick wall gives a diorama a setting and a story: it will serve as a background behind a vehicle, as cover for figures, or as the ruin of a building that has been hit. The surface carries a fine brick texture with the joints picked out, thanks to which it looks like real brickwork once painted. The segments can be combined with one another and with other buildings to build larger scenes.
Glue the parts with a liquid plastic cement and, if you like, break and irregularly sand the edges for a more convincing impression of damage. Spray the base coat with an airbrush, then pick out the individual bricks with several shades of red, ocher and gray. Apply a dark wash into the joints so that the texture stands out, and pigments will add dust and dirt. Remains of light plaster and scattered rubble at the foot of the wall will make the scene more realistic.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
