Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from the Japanese brand Tamiya. It combines a pair of British Second World War paratroopers with two folding bicycles of the kind the British airborne units used. The bicycles are faithfully executed including the spokes and the saddle; the handlebars and the pedals are separate parts. It is a set of figures and accessories, not a vehicle. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Folding bicycles allowed British paratroopers to move quickly after a drop and were a practical addition to their kit. The set captures soldiers in camouflage smocks, with a choice between the maroon beret and the paratrooper helmet. The typical kit is included - a pack, a water bottle, ammunition pouches and Enfield rifles.
The small parts of the bicycles call for careful clean-up and precise gluing with thin cement for plastic. The bicycles can also be assembled folded and used as a separate diorama accessory or beside a vehicle. Paint the figures in layers: the base of the camouflage smock, the shades of skin and of the leather kit; a dark wash into the folds and a dry brush on the edges will add depth. Each figure offers a choice of two types of head and arms, which allows different variants.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
