British paratroopers in 1:35 scale, the fourth item of a numbered line meant for assembling a group of your own.

British airborne infantry is one of the subjects that keeps its place in modeling. The soldiers arrive by air and move on on foot, so their scenes call for no large hardware and make do with terrain and a few accessories. That gives the figures a compact character: the kit against the body, closed clothing and every movement subordinated to the march. The number four in the name refers to the order within a line in which the individual items follow on from one another.
In 1:35 scale an adult comes to about five centimeters, so the paratroopers combine with vehicles, buildings and terrain accessories in the same scale. A scene of an advance along a wall, a halt at a hedge or a look at a map all suggest themselves. The base does not have to be large; a piece of soil with grass and one striking element for the composition to lean on is often enough. Anyone assembling the line gradually can widen the scene with every further item.
Cut any excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder, then wash, degrease and prime the surface. Cyanoacrylate glue suits the joining, as it holds on ordinary modeling materials. Paint in thin coats and let each one dry, or the detail will get clogged. The uniform needs no more than a darker base, brightened edges and a wash into the folds; dirty the footwear and the lower part of the trousers from the ground upward. If you are building several pieces from the line, vary the skin shade slightly so that the figures do not look like copies side by side. Finally unify the surface with a matte varnish.
The item suits modelers who build an infantry scene gradually, and also those who want to add a human element to a finished model of military hardware in 1:35 scale.
