British ration boxes 1:35 from PANZER ART: six resin castings of wooden boxes for a diorama or the load bed of a vehicle. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of resin castings in 1:35 scale contains six wooden ration boxes of the British army of the Second World War. It is not a vehicle kit or a spare part for one, but an accessory with which you fill the load bed of a truck, a trailer, the corner of a trench or a store in a diorama. The castings carry engraved plank texture and batten edges, so that once painted they look like real boxes and not like smooth blocks.
British and Allied units carried food in wooden boxes of uniform dimensions that could be stacked and easily carried. They appeared everywhere supplies went: on the beds of trucks, by field kitchens, in stores and as improvised seats and barriers. It is exactly this kind of small material that gives a scene life, because it shows that the vehicle belongs somewhere and that someone operates it.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release residue disappears from the surface; otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutter and true the surface with a file, and sand with respiratory protection. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Lay down a base with a primer. Wood comes out well when you lay thin strips of a lighter and a darker color over the base tone and then pull the whole together with a dark seeping coat.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
