A resin figure of a British tank commander in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand PANZER ART, the manufacturer's part number FI35-209. The figure wears a one-piece winter coverall that was called the Pixie after its shape. The manufacturer keeps it as one figure and in the same sub-range also makes the loader under the code FI35-210 and both men for the turret together under FI35-211.
The Pixie suit was a one-piece winter garment for tank crews: cut from water-repellent canvas, lined in khaki and with a detachable hood, which is where its nickname comes from. British crews wore it in northwestern Europe in the winter of 1944 and 1945, when battledress alone was not enough in an unheated hull and in a turret open to the frost. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject: the bulky garment gives the figure pronounced folds and a clear silhouette.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off and sand wet. It is bonded with super glue. The canvas of the suit is not a flat khaki — bring it to life with lighter tops of the folds and darker hollows, best with thin glazes or with oil paints. Apply the paint over primer, otherwise it rubs off the smooth resin. The lower part of the garment is worth dirtying with dust and grease.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
