A resin figure of a British tank crewman in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand PANZER ART, the manufacturer's part number FI35-232. It captures a man replenishing the ammunition for a gun of 75 mm caliber. The manufacturer keeps it as the first figure of a pair: under the code FI35-233 it has figure number 2 and under FI35-234 both of them together as a set.
A gun of 75 mm caliber was carried by British Shermans and Cromwells alike and it was a universal compromise: against armor it lagged behind the British 6-pounder, but it had a decent high-explosive shell, and that made it useful against infantry and against fortifications. Replenishing ammunition was one of the most frequent jobs of a crew between actions — shells were passed one at a time through the turret hatch and stowed in the ammunition stowage in the hull. A loading scene is therefore one of the most faithful ways to bring a model of a standing tank to life.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off and sand wet. It is bonded with super glue. Apply the paint over primer. With a figure in action the seating is what decides: try it dry-fitted on the turret or beside the hull and adjust the angle of the arm so that the pose does not hang in the air. The coverall benefits from folds brought to life with glazes and from greasy smears on the thighs and the sleeves.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
