A set of figures of British tank crewmen from the fighting in Normandy in 1944 in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. The word Set in the name is a distinguishing detail: the manufacturer also makes the same figures separately under the designations number 1 and number 2, while this set brings them together in one package. If you are building a scene with several figures around a single vehicle, the set brings both of them together in one package.
Normandy in 1944 was, for British armored units, an environment of narrow lanes, high banks and hedgerows, where fighting took place at short range. Crews spent a good deal of time with their hatches open and outside their vehicles, so a group of tank crewmen around an armored vehicle is a typical and easily read scene for a diorama from this period. British crews of that time are easy to recognize by the black beret of the Royal Armoured Corps and by their overalls.
With a multi-figure scene, plan the composition first. Stand the figures dry beside the model of the vehicle, turn them toward one another so that the scene has a story, and only then glue them to the base. Choose the glue according to the contents of the package. Paint over primer and vary the shade of the uniforms slightly between the figures, so that the set does not look mass-produced. Leave the faces for last and unify the surface at the end with matte varnish.
