An injection-molded plastic figure set from the Ukrainian manufacturer Master Box in 1:35 scale. It shows the crew of an armored vehicle of the British Commonwealth from the North African campaign of the Second World War, together with further figures that fill out the desert scene and an animal for local color. The figures are unglued and unpainted and are ideal for bringing a tank model to life or for building a desert diorama.
The fighting in North Africa from 1940 to 1943 took place in a harsh desert environment that made extraordinary demands on the machines and on their crews. British and Allied armored units fought large tank battles there; the crews wore light tropical uniforms, berets and dust goggles. It is exactly this informal desert dress that makes these figures a rewarding subject, one that brings an armor model to life and sets it on a particular battlefield.
Separate the figures and the accessories from the sprues with a sharp knife and bond them with thin plastic cement. Apply a primer before painting. The sand and khaki shades of the tropical uniforms come out best with shading and a dry brush; paint the faces in layers. A light dust patina in pigments ties the figures in with the desert vehicles and the base of the diorama.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
