The diorama accessory 1:35 Dead cow lateral position captures a fallen head of cattle lying on its side. It serves as part of a scene, not as a standalone model.

An accessory for building scenes from the series by Pimp My Miniatures depicts a fallen head of cattle in a position on its side. It comes into its own above all in country and frontline scenes in 1:35 scale, where it works as a storytelling detail beside equipment and figures. It does not make up a model on its own, and it is meant to be seated in the ground.
Dead farm animals were part of the reality of landscape struck by war. Abandoned farmsteads and shot-up pastures appear in period shots from both World Wars and from later conflicts. Such an element hints to the viewer what happened in the place without its being necessary to show human casualties. It pays to use it sparingly, rather in the second plane and as a complement to the main subject, not as the center of a scene.
The basis is brown or dappled hide in muted shades, complemented by a dark wash into the folds and a gentle dry brush on the raised places. The body has to be seated so that no gap is left between it and the surface. Cover small irregularities with grass, mud or gravel and unify the lower edge with pigments in the color of the surrounding soil. Glossy surfaces have no place here, as it is a matte surface that holds the whole scene together.
The casting arrives without paint and without a base, and the finishing is up to the modeler.
