Desert PSP is a general-purpose photo-etched brass set from Voyager Model for building desert pierced steel planking for dioramas in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched brass set from Voyager Model serves for building pierced steel planking (PSP, also known as Marston Mat) in a desert finish, in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but a scenic accessory from which you assemble the surface of a temporary roadway, a hardstand or a field airfield. The set is general-purpose and can be used with many kits as well as standalone scenes.
PSP are standardized perforated steel panels that were used from the Second World War onward to firm up surfaces quickly and to build temporary landing and taxiing areas as well as roads across country. The panels interlock with one another and their characteristic perforated texture is highly recognizable; in a desert setting they belong among the typical items of air and supply bases.
Carefully separate the photo-etched parts, lay the sections on a flat base and join them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with a primer. Rust, dust and ingrained sand come out well with washes, filters and pigments; uneven wear gives the surface a realistic look.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other materials are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
