1:35 Destroyed T55 turret Iraq base from the Black Dog brand is a diorama base with a destroyed T-55 tank turret in an Iraqi setting, ready for displaying a model in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This scene from the Black Dog diorama line joins a section of terrain with a focal point in the form of a destroyed tank turret. The turret on the base works as a storytelling element: it gives the scene a story and height without your having to build a whole vehicle.
The T-55 is a Soviet medium tank whose production ran from the 1950s in enormous numbers and which entered the inventories of dozens of countries around the world. Because of that you will meet it in almost any conflict of the second half of the twentieth century, and its characteristic low rounded turret is recognizable at first glance.
Since the scene already holds one striking mass, add to it sparingly. It has proved itself to place your own model so that it does not compete with the turret for attention but follows on from it: slightly to one side, turned a different way, or further from the edge than the focal point.
After a hit, metal loses its sharp edges and catches rust, while the terrain around it holds dry light tones. The contrast between those two surfaces is the core of the whole scene. Work from a dark base toward lightened peaks and build the rust traces by stippling, not with a flat coat.
A tank model of your own, figures and paints are not supplied with this base.
