A diorama stands or falls with its foundation. The base gives the scene its shape and its boundary, carries all the other elements and decides how the result looks in a display case or on a contest table. A ready-made foundation shortens the road to the result: you do not have to cut a board, shape the surface or wait for modeling putty to dry.
The diorama base in 1:35 scale as a separate part. The surface motif, the dimensions and the number of parts are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set. The composition of the scene, that is the placement of the hardware, the figures and the accessories, is up to you.
First dry-fit the model and the figures and check that they fit onto the area in the position you want. Then wash the surface and let it dry thoroughly so that the paint holds evenly. Cut away excess material and traces of production with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the area smooth. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. When painting, work from a darker base toward lighter layers and finally add dust and debris where they would settle naturally.
For modelers who want to set a built kit in 1:35 scale into an environment, and for those trying a diorama for the first time who do not want to start by working with plaster. It also serves well as a quick scene for photographing a finished model.
