A figure set in 1:35 scale on the subject of disposing of an explosive device in Iraq. A rewarding subject for a diorama with modern hardware.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set treats the work of the explosive ordnance specialists who neutralized booby traps and unexploded ordnance in Iraq. The abbreviation EOD in the name stands for exactly that activity, explosive ordnance disposal. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary kits of modern vehicles.
A scene with an ordnance disposal specialist has something most military dioramas lack: a clear story and tension in a single moment. The viewer understands at once what is going on and does not need to read a label for it. The set goes well with a piece of road, a curb, rubble or an armored vehicle standing a little way off. The details of the number of figures and the breakdown of the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry so that the paint holds. Cut any excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder carefully. Choose both glue and paints to match the material of the parts. With this subject the setting does a great deal: a dusty breath on the footwear and the lower part of the figure, small scrapes on the equipment and dry dusty ground all around. Work in thin coats and let each one dry.
For modelers who build scenes from modern conflicts and are looking for a figure subject with a story rather than just a figure standing beside a vehicle. It will also serve as a display piece in its own right for anyone who enjoys painting figures and modern equipment.
Paints, glue, a base and scenic accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
