A Hauler 1:35 photo-etched set for the Italian Fiat Coloniale light off-road car is an accessory for a plastic kit you have already bought, not a model in its own right. It replaces the elements where the thickness of plastic is most before the eye in 1:35 scale. The target kit is Italeri 6497.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet of photo-etched parts is cut for the Italeri 6497 plastic kit of the light off-road car. The package makes up no model of the vehicle; it is an addition for the modeler who already owns the kit. The exact composition of the sheet is given by the maker on the packaging.
The Fiat Coloniale was an Italian light off-road car derived from a prewar civilian passenger model. It arose for service in the colonies and across country, had a raised ground clearance, a simple open body and a canvas roof. The Italian army used it as a liaison and staff vehicle, where a large load capacity was not needed but an undemanding and light design was.
On an open car practically everything is in view. Injection-molded plastic cannot make a fender with a sharp edge, a radiator grille, wipers or hood fittings at a real thickness, because a mold needs draft and a minimum wall thickness. A metal part gets round that limit. Cut the parts off with a scalpel, bend them in a bender or between razor blades, and anneal a stiffer plate briefly over a flame so that it softens. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a primer. With desert shades dusty weathering then holds better on a matte ground.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
