A diorama building of a dwelling house in the style of the French countryside in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but an architectural set piece for a scene. The set consists of accurately cast plaster parts (a harder ceramic version in the newer editions) complemented by laser-cut features. The characteristic render, the shutters and the proportions evoke the setting of the fighting in France in the Second World War.
A village house gives a scene a clear sense of place and a human scale. It serves as cover, as a background and as the center of the action with vehicles and figures; the flat walls and the window openings offer room for patina and damage.
Plaster is easy to work and, being absorbent, takes acrylic paints, washes and pigments excellently. The parts are glued with PVA or super glue, the laser-cut parts with wood glue. The castings are brittle, so handle them with care; cracks can be filled and sanded down. Prime the surface before painting.
The building is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
