The set is meant for rebuilding the plastic kit of the light tank from the Meng brand into the TSF signals version. The package is not a kit of the tank; it holds parts cast in resin that replace part of the original kit. The exact contents and the extent of the surgery on the kit are given by the maker on the packaging, and reckon with the fact that in a conversion some of the plastic parts go unused and some areas have to be modified.
The Renault FT was a French light tank of the end of the First World War and introduced the arrangement that became the standard, that is, a rotating turret above the hull with the engine at the rear. The version designated TSF carried a fixed superstructure with a radio set in place of the rotating turret and served as a signals and command vehicle. It carried no weapon; its task was to keep communication between the attacking tanks and the command, which at the time was a fundamental problem.
First wash the resin parts in warm water with detergent, so that the remainder of the mold release agent is removed, or neither glue nor paint will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, and do not break them. While sanding, protect your breathing and sand wet, as dust from resin is unpleasant. It is glued exclusively with super glue, as ordinary glue for plastic has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting, and with conversions it pays to offer the parts up dry and check the fit before you glue anything.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
