German Afrika Mix no. 5, Beute-Halftracks, Captured US Halftracks is a set of water-slide decals in 1:35 from Star Decals with the markings of captured American half-tracks in German service in North Africa.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of water-slide decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals. It holds markings for the captured American half-track carriers (Beute-Halftracks) that the Germans captured and used in the North African campaign. The decals are printed on a thin carrier film with faithful colors.
During the fighting in Tunisia in 1943 the German forces took captured Allied equipment into their own ranks. The American half-tracks served as carriers and as towing vehicles and bore hastily painted-over original markings supplemented with German crosses and tactical insignia. The combination of an American base and German markings gives rise to unusual and attractive models.
Unify the surface under a decal with a gloss varnish, so that no silvering occurs. Dip the decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds, slide it into place, line it up and blot the excess water away. For a decal wrapping around detail use a softener, and at the end go over it with a matte varnish.
This is a set of decals, not a model. A kit, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
