A plastic set in 1:35 scale on the theme of a German machine gun. A machine gun is a rewarding element in a scene, because it seldom stands alone: it comes with a crew, ammunition boxes, a spare barrel and, above all, a position it is fired from. Even a single such group gives a diorama the story that a vehicle on a base on its own does not have. What exactly is in the box and what type of weapon it is are shown by the illustration on the box and by the manufacturer's instructions.
In 1:35 scale a standing figure measures around five centimeters. It is the most widespread scale for ground vehicles, so the set will meet tanks, vehicles and diorama accessories from a whole range of manufacturers. The small parts of the weapon, that is the bipod, the sights or the belt of rounds, are still readable at this size, and so it pays to paint them separately while they are accessible.
The parts are plastic and are glued with cement for plastic models. Separate them with cutters a little way from the part and clean up the remainder with a sharp blade, working away from the surface. Fill and sand the joints on the bodies and the clothing, or after painting you will see them more than on bare plastic. The metal parts of the weapon look better in a dark steel tone with lightly polished edges than in pure black, and the wooden parts take a brown color lightened with a dry brush.
The set belongs in a scene with models in 1:35 scale. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
