A plastic kit of the German armored railway car Panzerjägerwagen, which was part of armored trains. The model in 1:35 scale captures the armored superstructure with the turning turret of a Panzer IV tank, the gun, the running gear of the car and usually a section of track for display as well; the exact contents follow the particular edition.
The Panzerjägerwagen was the anti-tank car that became an important part of the late German armored trains of the BP 42/44 type. On a flat car it carried the complete turret of a Panzer IV tank with a long gun of 75 mm caliber, thanks to which the train could fight effectively even against enemy tanks. Armored trains served to protect railway lines, to escort transports and to fight partisans, above all on the Eastern Front. The gun car therefore gave an otherwise vulnerable train a weapon able to destroy an armored target at range.
Build the Panzer IV turret as a separate tank model and the car as a railway underframe - a turning ring joins the two. Glue the plastic with thin cement and the photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down a primer and spray with an airbrush; the large sides of the car are brought to life by a wash into the rivets and seams, a dry brush on the edges and rust and dust pigments on the running gear and the track. Paint the underframe of the car with its axles and springs before you fit the superstructure, and weather the track with rust and dust for a convincing base under the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
