An add-on set for the model of the German Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.J tank, carried under the development designation VK 16.01, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.J came about under the development designation VK 16.01 as an attempt to turn a light reconnaissance tank into a machine that could take a hit. Compared with the usual versions of the Pz.Kpfw.II it received frontal armor several times thicker, and with it a substantially higher weight as well. So that a chassis loaded in this way would carry itself across country, the machine was given strikingly wide tracks and a rebuilt running gear, which makes it differ from the slender silhouette of the ordinary Panzer II at first sight.
Only a small series was built in production and the machines reached the units at a time when a light tank of this kind had no place on the battlefield against contemporary opponents. They were therefore used rather marginally, and on the Eastern Front. For a modeler that makes it all the more interesting a subject: an unusual, easily recognizable shape and a machine you will not meet on a shelf just like that.
This is an add-on item for the model of this vehicle in 1:35 scale, of the kind that belongs among tracks and accessories for vehicles. The name does not determine the exact contents of the package or the kit the set fits; go by the parts list and the instructions from the manufacturer. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, cut the surplus material and the marks left by manufacture away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts.
Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
