A set of German tanker jackets in 1:35 holds several resin jackets laid aside, which will bring the turret and hull of a finished model to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set gathers several pieces of discarded clothing cast in polyurethane resin. Every jacket is captured in a different position, as it was thrown over an edge, slid into folds or left lying folded. In 1:35 scale a single piece measures not quite two centimeters, so it suits a turret, a fender and the figures of a resting crew alike.
The crews of armored vehicles worked in heat and in frost alike, and while servicing an engine a jacket was simply thrown onto the nearest surface. Period photographs are full of it: clothing hung on grab handles, on the gun, on the turret basket. A model with a piece of cloth laid on an otherwise bare deck gains a sense of scale at once and the feeling that somebody was standing by it a moment ago.
The jacket of tank crews was black, assault gun crews wore field gray, and at the end of the war reed-green cloth spread. These three allow the set to be divided up in color and give one vehicle variety without the scene looking improbable. A lighter tone along the edges of the folds keeps a small piece of cloth legible even from a distance. A jacket laid on light armor also works as a dark anchor that draws the viewer's eye.
