A grain thresher in 1:35 scale from Plusmodel. A model of an agricultural machine for dioramas, supplied unassembled.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of an agricultural machine that finds more use on a military diorama than you would expect. Much of the war was fought in the countryside, and a thresher standing by a barn or in a yard immediately tells you where the scene is: not on a training ground but in a village where, besides the fighting, farming still went on. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary models of military vehicles and figures, so the machine can be combined with practically anything from that class.
A thresher separates the grain from the straw and the chaff. Sheaves were fed into the machine from above, inside it a threshing drum beat them out and a set of sieves and fans separated the grain, which came out of one outlet, from the straw, which left by another. The machine itself did not move; it was driven by a belt from a tractor or from a stationary engine, so it stood in one place while it worked and the whole crew gathered around it.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Assemble the frame and the body of the machine on a flat surface and keep checking the right angles. Bond with super glue and apply a base coat before painting. Paint the wooden surfaces in layers and bring out the texture with a dry brush. Concentrate the weathering near the working openings and near the ground, where dust and chaff settled.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
