This set from Firma49 brings a faithful miniature of the German Hafthohlladung magnetic antitank charge in 1:35 scale. It is a resin accessory made by SLA 3D printing, meant for finishing off military dioramas and scenes. It is not a kit of a combat vehicle but a detail accessory for raising the realism of a scene.
The Hafthohlladung was a hand-placed shaped charge with a funnel-shaped body that German infantry attached directly to the armor of an enemy tank with three strong magnets. The shaped-charge effect could punch through even thick armor, but the attack called for courage at very close range. It was precisely the spread of magnetic charges that led the Germans to coat their vehicles with Zimmerit antimagnetic paste.
First wash the print resin residue off the parts, separate them carefully from the print supports and join them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before cutting or drilling it helps to dip the part in hot water, as the resin softens slightly and does not crumble. We recommend spraying a primer and only then painting. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
