A European house corner in 1:35 scale offers a typical corner of old buildings as a universal backdrop for display-case scenes.

The corner of older city buildings, as we know them across the countries of Europe, comes from the scenic group of the Black Dog brand. The customer is acquiring an architectural setting into which he adds models of his own; assembly from parts to instructions falls away here. The scale given is the most widespread one for ground displays, so the item joins an existing collection without difficulty.
Stone, brick and plaster hardly changed in old European buildings over the centuries, which makes such a corner an exceptionally adaptable background. The same corner will serve a city between the wars, the rebuilding after it and a present-day street. What decides is only what you add to it: period hardware, the clothing of the figures, traffic signs or small street furniture will set the time of the action more precisely than the architecture itself.
What takes most away from the impression is a sharp divide between the item and the baseplate. Deal with it by means of a layer of modeling paste, which you draw out to the sides from the foot of the wall, and once it has dried rake the joints of the paving out with a scriber. Paint the stone paving in groups and vary the shades; keep the sidewalk curb lighter. Finally rub a fine pigment into the corners; a deposit of dirt in exactly the places nobody sweeps will give the scene its credibility.
The item arrives in a raw state; painting it and setting it into the surrounding terrain await you.
