The Sho't Kal came about by rebuilding Centurions in Israeli service. An American diesel engine and a new transmission replaced the original British power plant, which markedly improved the reliability and the mobility of the tank. The version designated Dalet represents a later stage of the changes, with improved fire control and stabilization. The blade on the front served to clear obstacles and for earthmoving work in combat. The Sho't Kal was one of the mainstays of the Israeli armored forces and proved itself in the demanding conditions of Middle Eastern battlefields.
The precise parts from AFV Club call for care. Finish the running gear and the underside first, and only then close the hull; fit the blade and its arm according to the instructions. Spray the base coat with an airbrush in Israeli gray-green (Sinai Grey) and bring the edges out. For weathering use a darker wash in the recesses, chipping on the edges and earth pigments on the running gear and the blade, for a realistic layer of dust and soil.
