1:35 Iraq street base from the Black Dog brand is a diorama base with an Iraqi street setting for displaying a model in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This base from the Black Dog diorama range moves a model into an urban setting. A street is a rewarding subject for a modeler, because it sets the direction of movement by itself and tells the viewer where the scene is coming from and going to.
A made-up surface, curbs and vertical faces give the scene a geometry that open terrain does not have. A vehicle placed along the axis of the street looks at once as though it were driving through. At the same time it is a setting where the difference between the worn surface in the middle and the less used edges stands out.
The most common mistake is a uniform gray. A real road surface has irregular patches, darker strips in the wheel tracks and a lighter deposit of dust along the edges. Layer thinly diluted shades over one another and bring the texture out only at the end, with a light pass of a dry brush over the edges.
Do not set the vehicle exactly in the middle. A slight turn to one side and open space in front of the nose create a sense of movement; figures then look best against vertical faces, where they have something to lean on.
Obtain the vehicle model, the figures and the paints for this scene separately.
