A resin figure of an Israeli soldier in present-day equipment, carried as the first figure of the sub-range marked with the year 2024. Black Dog offers it on its own, so it can be added to a scene one at a time. The casting is unpainted and without a base. The manufacturer also carries present-day Israeli figures in earlier sub-ranges; this one belongs among the newest.
Present-day figures have a different silhouette from historical ones: bulky body armor, a helmet with attachments and layered equipment change the shape of both the shoulders and the waist. For a diorama that means the figure has to stand beside hardware of the matching period, or the look of the figure and of the vehicle will diverge. A modern scene also takes an urban setting, where a wall, a curb or a concrete block is enough for the figure.
Clean the mold release agent off the casting, cut off the casting blocks and smooth the surfaces. Make the joints with cyanoacrylate glue and fill any gap with putty. Choose a lighter base coat, because modern equipment tends to be in sand and khaki tones. Apply the coats thinly so that the seams of the body armor and the individual straps are not lost. Paint the helmet separately from the head; access to the neck and the face is then considerably easier.
