This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds captures the Type 73 light cross-country vehicle of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) in the version with the Type 64 anti-tank guided missile system, designated 64MAT. The set holds the launcher, the body of the missile and the guidance unit for the operator.
The Type 73 light truck is based on the design of the Jeep cross-country vehicle, which Mitsubishi built under license. It served in many variants as a multipurpose JGSDF vehicle. The Type 64 was the first wholly Japanese anti-tank guided missile, wire-guided, with which the gunner could correct the flight path onto the target even after launch.
Assemble the chassis, the interior and the missile mount first, and only then close up the body. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic; the base is sprayed primer. Apply the camouflage with an airbrush and fine-tune the matte surface and the weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
