This photo-etched exterior set is meant for a plastic model of the German Tiger II (Königstiger) heavy tank with the Henschel turret in 1:35 scale. It adds fine outer details, such as the grilles of the engine compartment, the tool clips, the tie-down loops, the fenders and other small features that plastic cannot capture in a matching thinness. The set is an accessory, not a stand-alone kit.
The Tiger II, nicknamed the Königstiger or Royal Tiger, was the heaviest German tank put into service in series during the Second World War. It carried a long-barreled gun of 88 mm caliber and heavily sloped frontal armor. Compared with the earlier Porsche turret, the Henschel turret had a simplified, flatter shape with no rounded front, which made manufacture easier.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends in a bending tool or over a metal edge. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a base paint. The fine grilles and clips stand out once a wash and pigments have been applied to emphasize the depth of the detail.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
