The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank which at the beginning of the Second World War astonished with its strong armor, which was hard for the German anti-tank weapons of the time to penetrate. In the course of the war it went through a number of modifications; the version of 1942 received, among other things, a reinforced cast turret increasing its resistance. The tank was armed with a 76 mm gun and formed an important part of the Soviet armored forces, although its weight made demands on the running gear and the transmission.
Assemble the workable individual track links according to the instructions and leave them movable for a faithful fit on the running gear. Paint the running gear and the lower hull before the hull is finished. After painting, pick out the cast texture of the turret with a fine dry brush. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush, bring the panel lines and the details to life with a wash and complete the patina with pigments for the dust and mud effects of the Eastern Front.
