A photo-etched set for the LVT-4 in 1:35 scale from the Czech firm Eduard refines the detail of the amphibious landing vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of fine metal parts for the LVT-4 amphibious tracked vehicle. It comes from the workshop in Obrnice near Most, that is from domestic production which has long devoted itself to photo-etch. On its own it does not make a vehicle; it completes a plastic base.
The Landing Vehicle Tracked was a tracked amphibian which in the Pacific carried troops and materiel from ships straight onto a beach and onward overland. The LVT-4 version brought a fundamental change of layout against the earlier machines, because the load was unloaded through the rear and not over the side of the hull. Machines of this type were used in Europe as well for crossing flooded areas and rivers at the close of the war.
Before bending, heat the metal briefly over a flame and let it cool; the material will then give and not spring back. Use a steel rule or a bender for the bends, not your fingers. Join the parts with thin cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, so that any excess does not spread over the area. Before painting, degrease the area and lay down a thin primer, or the shade will hold considerably worse on smooth metal than on plastic.
The product is made for finishing a model already bought. The vehicle itself is ordered separately.
