A large injection-molded plastic kit of the American 40-ton tank transporter nicknamed the Dragon Wagon, in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The set covers both the tractor and the trailer and offers rolling wheels, crane parts, winches and loading ramps. A crew is included as well.
In the Second World War the Dragon Wagon was among the largest tank transporters. It was designed to carry Allied vehicles in the most varied conditions and was used mainly for recovering damaged tanks, above all Shermans, though it also towed captured German vehicles. The massive tractor with its armored cab and long trailer was the backbone of armored unit logistics.
Given the size, plan the build in subassemblies: the tractor separately and the trailer separately. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and, after the filler primer, apply an olive shade with an airbrush. The model is rewarding for weathering; dust and mud on the wheels and the load bed can be brought out with pigments and washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
