Workable T-48 type tracks for American M4 Sherman medium tanks in 1:35, made by 3D printing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of individual links that assemble into a workable track. The finished track can be threaded around the wheels and left to sag naturally, instead of being bent from a single piece of soft material. The links were made by 3D printing, so the edges of the chevron pattern and the inner side of the link carry detail that a split mold cannot produce. The set aims at Shermans with VVSS spring suspension.
The T-48 is a classic rubber track with a chevron pattern and the longest used of the rubber types for the Sherman. The chevrons improved grip in rough ground over the older smooth T-41 and T-51 blocks and became a typical sight on the Western Front and in Italy. The rubber running pad also spared road surfaces, which cast steel tracks could not do.
First free the printed parts of print residue and let them cure properly. Remove the supports with a sharp cut, never by twisting. Join the links with cyanoacrylate glue in a really minimal amount, so that the joint stays movable. It pays to assemble longer runs and join those together only on the model. When painting, count on the rubber pad being darker and flatter than the metal guide horn and the end connectors, and a dry brush on the peaks of the chevrons will give the track depth at once.
