The M42 was a command truck derived from the standard M37 truck with a 3/4 ton payload and all-wheel drive. It came about through the addition of a special set: a new canvas top with side windows, a split tailgate, stronger interior lighting for reading maps and a folding table in the middle of the body. The vehicles were given more powerful radio sets for reliable communications in the field, so they served as mobile command posts. The model suits postwar and Cold War scenes.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the interior of the body before you add the canvas. After spraying primer and olive paint with an airbrush, pick out the details with a wash and apply dust and mud to the chassis and the tires with pigments. The canvas can be gently picked out with filters and a dry brush for a convincing textile look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
