A photo-etched brass set from the Czech maker Eduard intended for detailing a model of the American M4A3E8 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank but a set of thin-walled photo-etched parts that replace or supplement the coarser plastic elements of the base kit and give the model a realistic look.
The M4A3E8 Sherman, nicknamed Easy Eight by the troops, was a late American version of the famous Sherman medium tank. It was distinguished by the new HVSS suspension with wider tracks, which improved the ride and the distribution of weight, and by a longer 76 mm gun. It was committed in the closing stages of the Second World War and later as well, for instance in the Korean War.
Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife, shaped with a bending tool or a ruler and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On the Sherman, photo-etch mainly refines the fenders, the engine deck grilles, the loops and the tool holders. Degrease the surface and lay down a primer before painting.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
