An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light tank M5A1 Stuart in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model is marked by the fine detail of a modern tooling, a turned metal barrel and photo-etched sheet for the finer details. Individual track links are usually included. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The M5A1 Stuart was an American light tank, an improvement of the M3 series with a pair of Cadillac gasoline engines and a new all-welded hull. The larger turret with its rear bustle made the crew's work easier. The pair of automobile engines gave the vehicle good speed and reliability and the automatic transmission made it easier to drive. In service from 1943 in North Africa, the Stuart also served in Europe and with the Marine Corps in the Pacific, where its mobility suited it above all to reconnaissance and to infantry support. With more than six thousand built it was the most widespread American light tank of the Second World War and many armies used it long after the war.
Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before you close the hull up; assemble the individual track links carefully. Clean up the turned barrel and the photo-etch. Apply the olive scheme with an airbrush and bring out the details with washes in the seams. Dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the underside give the tank convincing weathering from the field.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
