An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M706 Commando wheeled armored car in its Vietnam War fit, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the version with a rotating turret with two machine guns, and the box contains parts on sprues, a photo-etched part and rubber tires. Check the exact number of parts and the markings on the packaging.
The M706 was the military designation of the Cadillac Gage V-100 Commando armored car, a four-wheel 4x4 vehicle with a boat-shaped, mine-resistant hull. In Vietnam the US Army military police used it for reconnaissance, convoy escort, road patrols and the protection of base perimeters. The vehicle protected its crew against small arms, fragments and mines, and thanks to its buoyant hull it could handle water obstacles. In Vietnam it became one of the typical armored vehicles of police and security units.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the interior of the crew compartment, which disappears once the hull is closed. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Once the base color and the varnish under the decals are on, bring out the details with a wash and apply pigments for the dust and mud effects of the Vietnam deployment to the lower areas and the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
